MERCER -- 1
The 2003-'04 archery harvest declined by 48.44 percent to 149 from the previous season's 289.
MONROE -- 3
Steady, reasonable increases since 1995 with 108 to 326 in 2003 but no public access available.
MONTGOMERY -- 4
Another harvest record (616) makes for a four-year upward trend. Some public access.
MORGAN -- 1
A decline in 2002 broke the streak but since recovered. New high of 537 kills. No access.
MOULTRIE -- 3
The upward trend continued with 7.74 percent increase to 167 filled tags. Access to over 6,000 acres.
OGLE -- 3
The 2003-'04 season marked a new record of 759 dead deer.
PEORIA -- 5
Yet another harvest record, with 1,008 archers going home happy. Over 4,000 acres of access.
PERRY -- 3
Leveling off with an increase of only one-half a percent but still a respectable 713 animals taken.
PIATT -- 1
Another 9 percent gain to 134 kills but still well below the record in 1998 of 177. No access.
PIKE -- 5
The top producer set another record harvest with 3,219 filled tags. Over 17,000 acres of available access.
POPE -- 5
After five out of six years with harvest in the 700 range, they finally broke the mark with a take of 808.
PULASKI -- 0
Average harvest is 311, and 309 were bagged in 2003-04. No access.
PUTNAM -- 3
Excellent increase of 34.29 percent to 235 from the previous year's 175.
RANDOLPH -- 4
Another increase, though more modest, to 910 from previous year's 843. Over 18,000 acres to play on.
RICHLAND -- 1
Stabilizing again with 446 killed and a five-year average of 420.
ROCK ISLAND -- 3
Two years of declines followed by another two of increases. New record harvest in 2003-'04 of 485.
SALINE -- 6
Another 12.91 percent increase for 2003-'04 followed the 38 percent gain in 2002. Plenty of access.
SANGAMON -- 3
The rollercoaster ride continues, and a new record harvest of 725 is realized. Five-year average is 605.
SCHUYLER -- 3
The gains continue, though at a slower-than-average rate. A record 613 deer were taken.
SCOTT -- 3
Steady gains experienced since 1998, reaching 260 in 2003-04.
SHELBY -- 6
Climb continues to last year's harvest of 706 deer. Over 10,000 acres of access helps.
STARK -- 0
Another 8 percent decline marks four bad years. The high of 481 came in 1999 while 2003 saw only 149.
ST. CLAIR -- 3
Another good year under the belt with 762 compared to the five-year average of 536.
STEPHENSON -- 2
Better but no stable trend, with a 2003-'04 take of 457 and an average at 413 deer.
TAZEWELL -- 2
Another 6 percent rise brings the high to 694 and the average over 5 years to 595.
UNION -- 4
Another 9 percent increase to 623 from 570, and nearly 9,000 acres of public ground.
VERMILION -- 4
This score went up with another record harvest of 1,039 filled tags.
WABASH -- 2
Unsteady history is leveling off. Since the 2000 season, harvests have been 228, 262, 251 and 255.
WARREN -- 2
Nice recovery of 21.78 percent in 2003-'04, with new record of 274 archery kills.
WASHINGTON -- 2
Still good numbers (516) but a decline from the previous year (524).
WAYNE -- 4
A 16.76 percent recovery from previous year's slump with a record 843 killed.
WHITE -- 3
Good growth continues, with a 16.85 percent increase to 645 kills.
WHITESIDE -- 3
Two year's of recovery since 2001 slump, with record of 442 last winter.
WILL -- 4
Another 16 percent gain raised their score and created a record harvest of 934. Access to 7,480 acres.
WILLIAMSON -- 4
A 19.07 percent decline dropped the score. Five-year average is 694 but the 2003 season was only 645.
WINNEBAGO -- 2
2002-'03 was worst season in four while 2003-'04 set a new record of 547 deer. What next?
WOODFORD -- 2
Another best at 556 but increase was below statewide average.
